A quick easy directory of “direct links” to delete your account from many popular web services

With so much of our lives revolving around our “Online Brand” which could either make us or break us in life and our careers, I thought it was imperative that I help to spread the word about web services that help you fight back and regain some of your privacy.  I first saw these on a blog EFYTIMES I personally follow here and you should check out their other ad block suggestions too.  We use Bitdefender extension in a Mozilla browser, along with Privacy Dog, and AdBlock Plus, as well as a Disconnect plugin.  This involves lots of white-listing sites and content that I do want to allow through, but you get used to it, once you realize how long it’s been since you had malware, viruses, and other issues on your machine.  🙂

So make sure you save and put some of these to use to maintain or regain control of your online image.  If you don’t create it, someone else will do it for you.  Safe surfing!

How the Recession Reshaped the Economy, in 255 Charts from The NY Times

This is such a great graphical explanation of what has transpired in the job market during the course of the last 6 years since 2008.  For those that have been unemployed, or the term they use nowadays ‘underemployed’ this offers little consolation.  It does however provide the foundation of knowledge you need to decide on how YOU could become an Entrepreneur and sell your current skill set to the local community near you.

I saw an image today of a Chinese Proverb (will share it in the next post) that puts it a bit more eloquently.  ADAPTING TO CHANGE is what you’ve known you needed to do all along.  Stop fighting it.  The world of work has changed and continues to change.  Be like water and go with the flow.  Put your thinking caps on and find 2 skills you can sell.  Give them away for free at first.  Always give of yourself for free at least one day a week.  Even if you hit it big and see success right away you should maintain the sharing concept alive in your organization.  Your efforts will be rewarded tenfold in this new “sharing economy.”  Who knows you might even wind up meeting a great mentor.  Speaking of mentors, put that “Meetup” app on your phone, search locally, and go meet up with others in your industry or with similar interests.  Networking is key so get out there!  Good luck!

A Mothers Love Is Usually Blind – Boston Bombing Suspects Mom Says They’re Innocent

His Mom’s loyalty is to be expected and he has a great Public Defender in his corner as well.  But enough about the suspect.

We send condolences and solidarity to the victims families.  This past week in the US was such a gripping and dramatic one that this blog post just had to address the marathon bombing.  RIP to the deceased.  Recovery & speedy adjustments to the others.  #BostonStrong
